Can't do anything with Office 2000 Pro - Windows Installer Package issue

I was attempting to use some templates in Word. I was getting errors about
"this package could not be opened"

I had FrontPage 2003 beta installed from Office 2003 beta. I uninstalled
FP2003 and now I can't even access any office 2000 apps.

Uninstalling 2000 does not work, upgrades will not work.
