Can't double click to open office files

Greetings,

I used a program called "Windows Install Cleanup" to solve an install issue
with another program. It worked fine, allowed me to install another
program...but

I no longer have the correct icons for Office 2003, their just generic ms
icons. Also I can no longer double click on the icon to make it open. I
have to open the program, and then through word/excel/etc. open up the
file.

I went to folders/folder options/file types and clicked "change" then made
the connection between word/doc, excel/xl, etc. but I can't still double
click to open any ms office files.

Any suggestions?
