Running Office 2007 Pro Plus. When I try to download Access templates.. it
appears initially to be working, but then generates the following message
"SQL distributed Management Objects (SQL-DMO) must be on the machine running
Microsoft Office Access. When I 'ok' that I see "Template 'Contacts.accdt'
could not be instantiated. The table 'Contacts' could not be read from the
template file. The ovject may bein unrecognized format or contain invalid
data.

Are you trying to download from within MS Office Access 2007 or from your browser via http://office.microsoft.com/templates ?

In which case.. the title of this post is a tad misleading.. it should read
"Error when creating database from template".

Is this a particular template, or all or ?? What are the steps you're using.

It's all access templates. I've tried several different ways - directly from
Office 'temlates on line', local templates and from the temp dir - but all
have the same problem. The same kind of process works perfectly in Excel..

Try asking over in one of the Access newsgroups. The Access MVPs are a great
bunch of folks and I'm sure they'll be able to get you up and running.
