If you're using Windows XP SP2, you may be having a small, beige line
showing under the address line in your browser which is looking for approval
for the download. Unless granted, downloads are blocked.

I can download the trial version, but when I try to open it, I get an error
message that it's "not a valid WIN32 application." I've downloaded and tried
to run it twice, same result.
I too have been trying and it won't work.
I think that the server is down (I always get an HTTP error page saying it's
too busy). I have emailed Microsoft but haven't had a reply.
Still, if they don't want to sort this problem out, I guess they'll just
have to put up with fewer people buying their software!
Many people have reported that to be the result of a corrupt download.
Did you clear the IE cache before each subsequent download attempt? If
not, you are simply retrieving the same corrupt version from cache and
never downloading a newer "good" copy from MS' website.
Actually - i had the same problem and deleting everything earlier downloaded
called "OneNote" fixed it! So it is clear that an old corrupt download caused
the "not win32" message for me. Now it works fine!
