Can't drag and drop section groups

I can drag and drop sections within a notebook to manually alphabetize the
sections but I can't move section groups. These sit below the sections and I
can't move them at all within a notebook.

Is this normal behaviour?

I'm using section groups and it seems to put them in alphabetical
order (ON 2007).

I don't think you can drag them (I've tried also).

Ignore my last reply. I was getting two things mixed up.

Section groups are stored alphabetically along the top.

However, I can move them to any Notebook or other section group within
the current notebook.

If you drag a section group over a notebook on the left hand side that
notebook should open. Does this happen in your case?.

Yes it does if I drag the section group and hold it over a different
notebook. But that's not the problem.

I want to alphabetize manually all sections and section groups within a
notebook. I can manually re-order sections but I can't move SECTION GROUPS to
sit within a bunch of sections.

The following gives an example:-

Say I have:-

Administration (= a section)
Salaries (= a section)
Departmental budgets (= a section group)

but want to re-order them alphabetically like this:-

Administration (= a section)
Departmental budgets (= a section group)
Salaries (= a section)

I can't move "Departmental budgets" up to sit between the two sections.

Yes, that is normal. Unfortunately, reordering section groups is not
supported. However, they should still be alphabetized at the end of the
notebook, after all the sections.

That behavior is by design.

Much like folders in Windows Explorer, Section Groups in OneNote are always
listed separately from Sections. SGs will always be listed in alphabetical
order and that cannot be changed.

Yes they are. It's just that in my opinion, it would be more intuitive when
looking for section headings to have the section groups mixed in with
sections in alphabetical order
