Can't drag excel object into word

When I drag an excel file into a word document I get the following error.

This object was created in Page.
This application is not available to open this object.
Make sure the application is properly installed and that it has not been
deleted, moved, or renamed.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Office 2003 various times in order to fix
any issues it may have had, but the error is still there. Anybody got any
idea how to fix this error?

Thanks for your suggestion, thought it may work since it tied to MS Office
but it didn't solve my problem. I have Symanctec Enterprise edition and it
doesn't seem to have a special MS Office plug I can disable. However, I
stopped the symantec service and tried dragging the excel file into word to
see if Symantec was causing the issue. I still got the error message pop up.
Got any other ideas?

If you have Symantec Corporate Edition, then you should be able
to get help from your company's computer support staff. If you
had an older version of Norton Antivirus installed on the
computer before you got Symantec Corporate Edition, then the
Office Plugin from the older version could still be registered in
Windows even if you have uninstalled the older version. Use
Windows Explorer to search for a file named OFFICEAV.DLL on the
hard drive (include system and hidden files/folders in your
search options). If you find it, note the folder where it is
located, and use the "regsvr32 /u" method described in KB329820
to unregister the DLL.

I did a search in my C drive for the DLL and nothing came up. I am going to
assume that the problem is not with Symantec. Any other reasons why this
message would show up?
