Can't edit text boxes

Hi

I have created a table in Word and overlaid some textboxes. Everything was working fine, but now I cannot edit the textboxes. Everytime I try to click on the textboxes the cursor jumps to the top of the column of the table which is under that textbox.

Hellllp, it's driving me crazy

Just before trying to select the text box(es), click on the Select Objects
tool in the Drawing toolbar. Does that now make the selection of textboxes
"stick" without jumping elsewhere?
