Can't export filtered query

Hello,
MS ACCESS 2003 on XP PRO.

I can't export a query with a filter on. I don't want to write the filter
in to the query because multiple users will filter different things.

Besides it feels like you should be able to.

Any ideas?

To clarify, the words EXPORT is grayed out on the file menu.

Thanks

Adding a filter modifies the query object. Unsaved objects can't be exported.

So the solution is once you filter it how you want it, save it and then export.

My understanding and experience is that saving with a filter on does not
cause it to open filtered next time you open a query.

Thank you

Correct, but the exported query won't include the filter. Only the data set
produced by the sql gets exported. The filter is a property of the querydef
object, so doesn't get exported unless it's exported as a query object to
another Access db file.

The query will open next time unfiltered, but if you click on the filter
button on the toolbar, the last saved filter will be applied.
