Can't Export to Excell

B

Brian

I'm having a problem with PWA. When I click on say Tasks and then click
Export to Excel I get an error and it asks if I want to copy the XML to a
clipboard. What I've found out is that if I go to IE --> tools --> Internet
Options --> Security --> Custom --> "Initialize and script ActiveX controls
not marked as safe" and set this to at least Prompt then the export to Excel
will work. Which is a work around but since Project Server is a Microsoft
product I would like to somehow make this ActiveX control to be "marked as
Safe" so I would not have to reconfigure IE on all of my customer's PCs. If
anyone can answer that question it would be great.

I had the same problem at work and the IT helpdesked installed 'office 2003'
which fixed the problem.

We have corrected this error on all machines giving us the problem by adding
the Project Server web server (i.e. http://projectserver) to the Trusted
Sites in the user's Internet Options. (Bring up the Internet Options control
panel, click on the Security tab, click on Trusted sites, click on the Sites
button and add the site.)

Hope this helps,

David
