can't find commas

I think you need the "like" operator in front.

criteria would be:

Like "*" & Chr(63) & "*"
Like "*" & Chr(44) & "*"

Like "*,*"

Question marks are special since they are part of the wildcard set and you need

Like "*[?]*"
