Can't find my files anymore

Cry for help.
suddenly I cannot find my files for the MS Office XP
products on my harddisk anymore. The message for Word is:
The file xxx is not availabel; Excel: Unable to read file;
Powerpoint: Powerpoint can't read xxx.
MS Access and all other software works fine. Did I catch a
virus. Can anybody help?

Good chance this is due to Norton AV. Search this DB for a reply regarding a KB document that list exactly what file to delete. Basically it is a NAV plug-in to MSOffice. MS should post this problem more widely. I just spent 2 hours trying to determine the source of a 10 second fix :-{
