Can't find my FP2000 CD, What options do I have?

S

Stan Hilliard

I am in process of migrating my applications from a Win98SE to a new
Win XP Pro computer. My MS FrontPage is FP2000, I have misplaced disk1
of the two-disk upgrade to FP 2000. I still have the original disks
from FP97 and FP98.

What are my alternatives?
(1) Can I get a replacement disk from Microsoft.

2) Should I buy a new FrontPage? I found this website that has FP2003
download for 39.95. But I think there are limited versions out there
and I want the full.

Does this look like a version and the legal license that I can use to
replace FP2000? (I would have been satisfied with my old FP2000.)

Advice will be appreciated,
Stan Hilliard.

Oops, I see that that store wants a membership fee.

You can be pretty sure that a site offering FP as a *download* may not be
legitimate, and the software may be pirated and without the proper
licensing.

Windows XP does not support the PWS that FrontPage 98 requires.
Windows XP Pro has IIS that can be used instead, Install IIS and FP2000
extensions, then do a custom install of FP98. DO NOT install the FP98
webserver- this will not work on WinXP, and may be a pig to remove.

Windows XP Home - you can use FP98 painfully with disc based webs.
Again do a custom install, and do not install the web server.
