Can't find my posts

G

GREM

The other day I posted a couple of questions in the newsgroups for
"Entourage" and "Word." There isn't any automatic notification so I
just checked to see if anyone responded to my question. I can't find
my questions. I searched using my user name "GREM," and text from my
questions and still I can't find them. What should I do?

Thanks,
Bob

Get a better news client? Choose a better news service?
Search using Google?
I replied, as did several others. We had quite a little conference
about your problem.

How are you accessing and posting your questions? Do you Entourage or the
Google web interface?

I don't use Google, so don't know if they offer that option. AFAIK there is
no individual notification like you get with some forums. There is also
Entourage talk list that you might like.

How to subscribe to the Microsoft Entourage talk list:

I didn't find a message on this newsgroup, but I did find a post from you on
the Entourage newsgroup for Sept 4 that I responded to.

I suggest that you use Entourage to access the newsgroup. When you select to
download it will download older messages. Just keep clicking on Get More
Messages (look under View in the menu bar) to get more older messages. I'm
not sure how long messages are kept on the server but it goes back several
weeks or months.

How to use Entourage to access the Microsoft newsgroups:

1. In the Entourage Folders list, click on the Microsoft News Server. The
newsgroup list will then download.

2. In the list of newsgroups, click the newsgroup you want (the Entourage
group is microsoft.public.mac.office.entourage), and then click Subscribe
button. Please note some of the newsgroups on the complete list are not
active.

3. Now click on the microsoft.public.mac.office.entourage newsgroup which
has just appeared in your Folder List on the left, under the Microsoft News
Server icon. Your quota of message headers will download. (You can change
the number of headers in Tools/Accounts/News/Microsoft News Server/Options).

4. Click on any header to download and read news messages. Click the New
button to start a new thread.

The following newsgroups off support:

microsoft.public.mac.office.entourage
microsoft.public.mac.office
microsoft.public.mac.office.word
microsoft.public.mac.office.powerpoint
microsoft.public.mac.office.excel

Please note these newsgroups are not active. DO NOT POST on these groups.

microsoft.public.office.mac.entourage
microsoft.public.office.mac.

I highly suggest that you use a nospam address for posting on newsgroups.
