I am running Outlook 2003 SP1 on Windows XP with SP2 installed. Ever since
installing SP2 I am unable to send email. When I try to send a test email
from with in the Tools --> Email Accounts, I get two errors. The first says
the outgoing email server was found but did not respond and the second says
the email could not be sent.
I am very confident that my SMTP server is correct because a) it worked
before installing SP2 and b) because I have two email accounts with seperate
SMTP servers and both generate the same errors.
I have the Windows XP SP2 firewall turned on, but have added both Outlook
and my outgoing mail port as an exception.
I also don't believe this is a problem with my internet connection because I
get the same error using my local area network or over a dial up connection.
I have run out of things to try. Any suggestions welcome
