Can't find project or library

Malcolm

Hi,

I have just completed an entirely new pc setup from a
fresh format on a brand new pc. Windows 2000, office 2000
installed, windows updates / service packs downloaded and
installed.

I run an access database for our business which was
running fine on the above setup.

Today I downloaded and installed Office service pack 1a.
Since this I get errors of "Can't find project or
library", and on investigation reveals msflxgrd.ocx is
missing from my pc.

I checked Office updates again, downloaded SP3 and all
other updates. Still gone.

Now I can grab this file from another pc, but can anyone
tell me why it has disappeared? I would only ask this
question as it is an entirely new installation. It was
there, now gone since sp1a.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts.

Did you actually search your hard drive for the file? If the file is actually
gone, I would suspect another cause, such as a defective hard drive. I don't
know whether this file is included with Office 2000 or not, but I find it hard
to believe that installing a service pack would obliterate a file unless that
file was one of those being updated and something interrupted the update
process. Then, again, this may simply be a "references" issue and you can get
the scoop on this and its resolution at the following page on Doug Steele's web
site:

If the above didn't work, try using the "Repair" option in Office setup (insert
your installation CD to start Setup). I'm not sure, however, whether this will
look for missing ActiveX files.

Bruce,

Thanks for the reply. I did search my pc for the file
(*flx*.*) which returned nothing.

Your comments and link land me right where I have had a
few problems in the past, so are very interesting. I will
have a good read and hopefully master the beast...

Again, thanks for the help.
