Occasionally, when trying to log onto our database, we
get the following error:
"Microsoft Office Access couldn't find
file 'I:\Access\MySecurity.mdw'. This file is required
for startup."
I know that this is usually a communication error with
the server or lost drive mapping, however, I just wanted
to check to see if there could be another cause. This
only happens for the database and no other application
(i.e. Word, etc.) When we get the error, we can open My
Computer and browse the I-drive without any problem and
open other items in the same folder (i.e. Word
documents). We just keep trying to open the db and
eventually it gets in. Note that the /wrkgrp switch is
being used in the desktop shortcut to get into the db.
Our system is: Novell Netware 6.5 SP2 running TCP/IP
Windows XP SP2 workstations
Access 2003 SP1
Thank you.
