Can't find the Table Menu

I am trying to convert a table to text, but I cannot find the Table
Menu, which is where Help keeps directing me. Is it supposed to show up
on the main menu? Is it inside an inner menu somewhere? I believe I
have searched everywhere, but there may be some nook or cranny within
the menus that I have overlooked. Is it possible that I failed to
install some part of Office 2004 for Mac?

Make sure you didn't accidentally turn on "Word 5.1 Menus", there's a hidden
keyboard shortcut that triggers this. Look under View to see if "5.1 Menus"
has suddenly appeared and has a check next to it.

If that's not it, go to Tools> Customize> Toolbars/Menus. Be sure Menu Bar
is selected and click Reset. I had the Work Menu disappear on me a week or
so ago and that brought it back.
