Can't get 24 hour format to change to 12 hour in calendar

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) Processor: Intel Email Client: Exchange I have tried several times to change the International format setting to have a 12 hour am/pm set up in Entourage but the format still stays 24 hour in the Calendar display itself. Although the actual entries are in 12 hour format and Entourage uses the 12 hour format for everything else except how it shows the actual calendars.
Is there something else I need to do to have this display correctly in the calendars?
I'm using 2008 Web Services Edition. Love this product for the most part and it finally allows me to let go of running Outlook through Fusion which is a great time saver and let's my machine run much faster.
Thanks for any help.

Be sure that you quit Entourage while making your changes in System
Preferences. The new settings will take effect at launch.

Hope this helps!

I did try quitting Entourage but it still didn't help.

Testing in a new User will quickly tell you if the problem is system wide or
if it¹s your User¹s folder that contains the problem.

Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the
New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching. Test the problem in
this clean environment.

thanks for the suggestion.

I tested as suggested and in the new account the 12 hour format is correctly displayed so now I know the problem is in this User's folder. Is the next step for me to delete this account and set it up again. It's an exchange account. Could this in anyway be related to the problem?

First create a new Identity in your regular User. If it works in the new
Identity, then continue with the new Identity, but if it fails, then it¹s a
problem that¹s a bit more difficult to find. See this link for testing your
preferences and other files:

Creating a new identity did not fix the problem. Sigh.
I started to do some of the testing shown in the link but I'm thinking it might be quicker to just reinstall Entourage. Will the problem persist if I do this or will I get a fresh start?

If it were Entourage then the problem would have existed in a new User. It¹s
a conflict or a preference file. You can move to the new User. Drag over
personal documents via the Shared folder.

Hi Diane,

Could you explain more what you mean by "you can move to the new user." Drag over personal documents via the shared folder.
When I created a new identity (same as new user?) the calendar still showed 24 hour in the display. although the calendar entries show correctly.

An identity is a complete personality of Entourage, containing (preferences,
account settings. A User is a term used by the Mac OS. The terms Identity
and User are often confused. Entourage stores your data in an Identity, and
the Mac OS creates Users.

Your identity is named "Main" by default. It is located in the Microsoft
User Data folder.

Go to System Preferences --> Create a New User in Accounts. Switch to the
New User by logging out/in or use Fast User Switching. Testing in a new User
gives you a clean environment to test the problem.

To test your files in the new User, drag them to the Shared folder.

Your Hard Drive/Users/Shared

When you are in the new User, you can drag (it actually copies) the files to
the new User for testing.

Remember to move the files in Shared back to their original locations when
you are finished testing.

Hi Diane, I'm still working on a fix for this.
I have now created a new identity. When I open Entourage in this environment the calendar shows correctly. But I'm still not clear on how to do the testing.
I have found the Shared folder. Could you give me an example of the files I should be dragging into this folder for testing?
thanks.
