Hi all,
I'm having a problem syncing Outlook 2003 with my Windows Mobile 5 phone.

I have 2 email accounts in Outlook & it will only sync with the Outlook
inbox, not the Hotmail inbox.

Can anyone tell me what to do?

Thanks.

It will only sync with your default mailbox.

Oh right, that's a shame cos I'm having a helluva time trying to swap the
accounts round :-(

I've even deleted the other account from Outlook but still can't get it to
work.

Could you tell me how to make the Hotmail account the default mailbox?

Cheers.

Did you ask the author of activesync if their product supports HTTP
accounts in Outlook? Could be they only support POP3/IMAP accounts, and
Hotmail is an HTTP account.

Since you ended up with only one mail account, it is also the default
one. Apparently activesync doesn't work with HTTP accounts. Since
rules don't work against HTTPmail accounts, could be the activesync
plug-in won't work with HTTPmail. All Exchange/POP3/IMAP mails are
aggregated into the one Inbox folder (i.e., into your local message
store). However, each HTTPmail gets its own separate message store
(i.e., a different .pst file) and activesync is probably not looking
there. HTTPmail accounts do not aggregate their inbound mails into a
folder that activesync can read from. You'll notice that the Hotmail
root node and its folders are NOT under your personal message store's
root node with its folders. Each HTTPmail account is shown and managed
as a totally separate message store (from the default "Personal Folders"
message store).

The "Personal Folders" message store is always the default (even if you
don't have one then Outlook will create a new one). I don't think you
can make any HTTPmail account the default message store. You might be
able to make an HTTPmail account the default e-mail account but that is
only when you are sending mails (and don't specify a different account).

See http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/assistance/ha011083961033.aspx and
click the HTTPmail link to expand that section's help text into view.
