Can't get into my local website on my computer

The template for my website was created by an outside person. I then went to
that template and put in my id and password and was able to create my
website. The other day I went to add to the site and the template was gone.
I didn't do a thing to delete it. Now I can't get into my local files. The
only thing I get, when I log into frontpage is my remote website and there
are question marks and the word conflict next to every page when you go to
the publish site area. All the pages I created, and did not publish yet, are
not there. What do I do?

Are both you and your 'outside' person working on the site directly on the
remote server at the same time?

What do you mean you cannot get to your local files? They're on your
machine, you shouldn't get prompted for a password. Are you working locally
or on the remote server? Maybe you're working on both and are getting them
confused. You should work locally and Publish up to the server when you're
satisfied with your design changes. However, you must first get the most
current copy to your machine to get rid of the conflicts. If your remote
server copy is the most complete/current you'd Publish that (full publish)
to your hardrive...if you've made changes in both places your gonna lose
some of the changes.
