Can't get macro to run in Word

R

Rollie

I have made a template containing macros on my PC . Now this template shall
be used on Mac as well and I'm not at all familiar to Mac. My problem is that
I'm running a Document_New macro that is supposed to display a User form
which it does on the PC but not on the Mac. Anyone got a clue?

Thanks alot!

Hi,

If your userform uses Active-X controls they won't work on a Mac. Stick
with the standard controls and things will be just fine.

Active-X is an opensource technology that has not yet been ported to the
Mac.

In Mac Word VBA Editor, look in the Help for "Using Events with the
Application Object"

There are several things you have to do to get Events working on the Mac,
it's not the same as the PC.

Personally, I would use an AutoNew() macro in both places: they are very
reliable across all platforms.

I think what may be going wrong for you is that you are not actually getting
a "New Document". If you double-click a template on the Mac, you open the
_Template_ itself, not a document based on it.

There is no "good" way around this. If you explain more about precisely
what you are doing, we may be able to come up with a work-around for you.

Cheers
