Can't get my Flash audio to play in FP2002

I want to add an audio track ("Welcome. . .") to my site. I purchased an MP3
to SWF converter and created an output file of the MP3 of my comments. It
created a SWF file of my audio, an XML file (playlist), a IE page for my
player and the basic IE page called Index that I launch, click to view
source, the copy and paste the HTML code into my FP2002 page where I want it
to go. I make sure that all the files are in the page folder in FP where I
want the audio to play (in this case the homepage, "Index").

Two things.

First, the player doesn't show, but if I mouse over where it is supposed to
be a thin-line box appears that would contain the player. If I click inside
that box, it goes away and nothing happens. Any ideas why the player isn't
showing up?

Second, I bought the MP3 to SWF converter from a vendor in Europe (relevant
only in that the time difference makes it tough for us to communicate
quickly). He said I needed to make some small changes in the XML file
(Playlist) and told me what they were. The problem is that if I try to open
the XML file to edit it, I can't. I get this error message:

The XML page cannot be displayed
Cannot view XML input using XSL style sheet. Please correct the error and
then click the Refresh button, or try again later.

How do I make changes in the XML?

Thanks for the help. . .
