Hi John,
One possibility is that the download is corrupted.
What version of Windows are you working in?
Can you manually extract the files from the .exe download to an empty folder using these instructions? If not, then you'll need to
download Office 2007 again.
Did you uninstall all previous Office 2007 and MS Expression pre-release products, add-ins and converter packs prior to trying to
install?
1. Use Start=>Programs=>Accessories=>Disk Cleanup
clear your Internet files and temp files.
2. Locate your 2007 Office download file and note the folder/path location.
3. Create a new folder on your PC and note that
folder/path location.
4. Use Start=>Run , and on a single line type in
the following (using the path & file names from Step 2 & 3 rather than the placeholders in the next line)
"drive:\Step2PathOfDownload\downloadfilename.exe" /extract:"Step3path"
example: (assuming you saved to a 'downloads' folder and created a new folder named Off2007Pro) the Start=>Run line would look
like this
"c:\downloads\MyOfficeDownload.EXE" /extract:"C:\Off2007Pro"
If the extraction is successful (you'll get a dialog box telling you it was after a few minutes) then
a. Backup your files and shutdown all other running apps and utilities including antivirus.
b. Run setup from your new 2007 Office system folder you
created in the previous steps
c. Else, if the extraction doesn't succeed then the download may be damaged/corrupted.
Use Start=>Run and type
%temp%
and locate the Setup-xxxxx.log
(file) just created and see if it has any clues on where the extraction failed.
Post back with the results please.

Hello, I got Office 2007 downloaded today. I go to run the X13-40150.exe
file to install the program and it come back saying it is not a valid Windows
32 program. What am I doing wrong?
I have not even gotten to the point where I plug in the product code.
