Can't get rid of Enterprise Fields that I no longer need!!

T

Tricia R.

I created several custom enterprise task fields (2 cost & 1 text) and now I
don't need them but can't seem to get rid of them (i.e. they still show up
when I click a task and then look at the custom fields tag). I've tried
removing the name, resetting the options on the custom field to the default,
etc. Anyone know a trick to this???

Tricia --

The ONLY way to remove custom enterprise fields is to follow this process:

1. Open the Enterprise Global file for editing
2. Click Tools - Organizer
3. Select the Fields tab
4. Select the fields you wish to delete from the list on the right
5. Click the Delete button
6. Save and close the Enterprise Global
7. Exit then relaunch Microsoft Project Professional and log into Project
Server

Hope this helps.

Hi Tricia,

I've found some of the books, such as Administering an Enterprise PMO using
MS Office Project Server 2003 (yes, by Dale and another MVP, Gary Chefetz),
very helpful in helping me figure these sorts of questions out.

Good luck! ...L
