Can't get Word to show on monitor

I know the Word is opening and closing, its just not
showing on the monitor. I keep most of my files on Word.
I'll open word, and it will show up in the tray.

Also on my other computer, after a power failure the
computer came back on in the safe mode. How do I get in
back to windows?

Most likely it's opening offscreen. Open any other window, then right-click
on the Taskbar and choose Cascade. This should bring the Word window back in
view. Drag it to move and size it to your liking, then quit Word. When you
restart, the window should be where you left it.
