Can't hibernate while Access is open

J

I'm using Windows XP Professional with Access 2003. I have a program that I
need to run after I leave for the day and want my computer to hibernate after
the program has finished running. When Access is running my computer won't
hibernate. How do I get this to happen?

Do you just leave Access open running the app, or are you launching Access
from the scheduler? I'd suggest the latter. Put a Macro in your database which
runs the program and then does a Quit action; name the macro (say) RunProgram.

Launch Access from Windows Scheduler with

"C:/Program Files/yadayada/msaccess.exe" "D:/somepath/mydb.mdb" /x RunProgram

to launch Access with the macro; follow it by a command to hibernate (not sure
what that is, see the Scheduler help).

MOVE TO SQL SERVER AND USE THE BUILT IN SCHEDULER-- IT IS CALLED SQL
AGENT

SERIOUSLY-- IT'S FREE FASTER, EASIER AND BETTER

IF YOU WANT TO MOVE DATA FROM ABC TO XYZ ON A SCHEDULED BASIS, IT
TAKES ZERO PROGRAMMING

CHOOSE THE RIGHT TOOL FOR YOUR JOB, KIDS

you guys are truly idiots

maybe if you'd stop spreading mis-information and stop speaking partial
truths0-- then maybe you wouldn't have such a hard time blocking the
truthful posts of an ex-microsoft employee

He was never an employee of Microsoft.
He was a contractor *at* Microsoft.

It is, in fact, a big difference.

what the hell are you talking about?

the only people I ever met at Microsoft were a bunch of Excel dorks
I don't think that it's a compliment to work at Microsoft

it just means that you don't know Crystal Reports; and you have no practical
database SKILLZ

I was a contractor at Microsoft FIVE TIMES FOR ALMOST THREE YEARS

Right. What am I talking about.

Someone said you were an ex-employee of Microsoft.
I pointed out that you were *not* an ex-employee of Microsoft, but
that you were a contractor *at* Microsoft, which are two very
different things.

Someone made a mistake,.
I corrected it. I especially thought it would be a worthwhile
correction since the person was complaining about "mis-information"
and people "speaking partial truths", I thought it would be important
that said person actually stopped doing the same thing themselves, so
I gave them information and a whole truth.

Oh, and I see working at Microsoft "FIVE TIMES FOR ALMOST THREE YEARS"
taught you well, like, y'know, politeness. I worked there for 8 years
as a FTE. Figured I'd say that since, well, you wanted to turn it
into a whizzing contest.

Uhh. Why? What did I say here that would merit such a response? But
regardless, y'know what? This makes me remember why I banned your
sorry ass from the msnews server. =)

kthxbibi

I think that you're a dipshit then

they offered me a FTE position a couple of times; I told them to build
a time machine and then maybe i'll thikn about it

of course, i've got proxy-log records from when i was at Microsoft,

Yes, I did. I was the newsgroups administrator, I put your name and
posting addresses in the filters.

I didn't think it was that funny. I hated blocking people, but, some
people just don't play well with others. Like you.

Uhh. Ok? Go right ahead? And after you do that, ask me if I care.
(Hint: I don't.)

Err, yes. You, as evidenced by your complete inability to actually
try to deal with me as an adult, and instead decided to insult my
mother.
You're the cocksucker that is blocking people on a PUBLIC FUCKING

Was. Was the person. And no, I blocked you from a server that is
very *not public*.
**** you and **** your mother and **** your employer, bitch

Wow, big words from a little, little man. Want to say them to my
face? Please do let me know when and where. And, fwiw, Microsoft is
not my employer. Care to guess who is?

J

jaydeflix

Employer? No one. Currently happily retired, thank you. Be sure to
send me an evite for when you'd like to explain why I shouldn't have
banned you and so you can hurl whatever invectives you want. I hope
you won't be offended if I laugh at you while you do it.
