Can't import a range of numbers into a custom list.

I need to sort ranges in 6 sheets using a custom list for each one.
When I try to import a range containing numbers, I get error message
"Cells without simple text were ignored." and nothing is imported.
Help doesn't help. Shouldn't there be a way to import a numerical
list?
