Can't import excel spreadsheet into outlook

When trying to import an excel spreadsheet with names and addresses into an
outlook contact list, I get the message: "An ODBC error has occurred in the
Microsoft Excel translator while getting the contents of a file system.
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data Source name not found and no default
driver specified."

Have you saved the file in CSV format?

Try this:

Create a few contacts in Outlook with all the necessary fields populated -
export to a .csv. Compare the exported .csv to your Excel file - massage
the Excel file to match the one you created and then try the import again.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. Due to
the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
