I have recently gotten a new PB with Office 2004 (my desktop has
OfficeX). Since I have a very large database in OfficeX (over 3GB)
which has shown signs of instability recently, I decided to save each
folder in OfcX as an .mbox file and then only import the ones I need
now (thus archiving the old ones and not having to deal with the
fragged database).
After creating all the mbox files, I copied them onto my laptop.
However, when I choose File > Import > from text file and go through
the steps (that I've done before) to import the mbox files -- they are
not recognized in the dialog. I navigate to them, but they stay greyed
out.
Thinking perhaps there could be corruption when copying, I navigate to
the original mbox files (I am connected to the tower through firewire
currently) and try to import those. No go. Still greyed out (though
testing ON the tower using OfficeX, the mbox files are recognized).
Finally, I decided to try importing the program -- I got through those
steps in File Import and when I navigate to my OfficeX identity on the
other computer (through Firewire), I get this error:
Entourage could not import all of your information.
Import from MS Entourage X could not be completed because an error
(-36) occured.
Same message with "an error (2) occurred." as well.
Does anyone know how I can get my mail into the new laptop/Entourage
2004? I have GOT to get this to work. :-\ Thanks.
