Can't insert GIF image with "Link to File"

Version: 2008 Operating System: Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) Processor: Intel Hi,

I am new here; please be gentle! Already read lots of posts and can't find an answer.

Bottomline: I can't figure out how to attach a GIF image linked to an online file. For what is worth, I am fairly familiarized with the procedure in Word for Windows:

1. click on Insert Picture.
2. type the URL in the file field.
3. click on right arrow on the button labeled "Insert" and select "Link to File".
Done!

Now I switched to a Mac; the previous procedure is completely different and can't figure how to do it.

Thank you in advance for your directions.

Micho.

You can't do this in Mac Word 2008.

You need to use an HTML editor (DreamWeaver...) to do this properly.

Cheers
