can't insert interactive button

The "insert interactive button" feature no longer works in FP2003.

Java script is turned on in Tools > Authoring.

do you have a whole web open or just a page?
what is the actual symptom of the failure?

It doesn't matter whether I open an established website that I've already
included interactive buttons in previously, or if I open a new blank page.

Any time I click on Insert > Interractive button ... nothing happens. If I
click on buttons that I have created previously I do not see the box where I
can edit the button.

I also have the Insert Interactive Button icon on my toolbar ... and that
doesn't work, either.

This has been going on for several weeks and I urgently need a solution.

You might try "Detect and Repair" from either the Help menu or Control
Panel.

I just tried it on my FP2003 running on an upgraded XP ---> Vista system
and, although I hardly ever use those buttons it still works just fine for
me. The only reason I say this is because I just wanted to see if any large
software manufacturers are deliberately breaking older features of older
programs so that they won't run under Vista (like Intuit recently did to
QuickBooks 2005 for example - they broke it so you're forced to upgrade).
But, I'm happy to say that for now FP2003's Interactive Buttons are working
fine under standard operating procedures.

Try Detect and Repair from Your Help Menu or, re-install??

Thanks for the ideas, Keith, unfortunately they haven't worked.

I've run Detect and Repair and I've also reinstalled FP2003. Neither option
helped.

By the way, I'm still running Windows XP.
