Can't Insert Objects

Hi,
I've lost the ability to do Insert Object of any ActiveX Servers like Excel
spreadsheets. For example, I can't insert an Excel spreadsheet or edit an
existing embedded Excel spreadsheet. In fact no program that normally does
Insert Object can insert anymore. This includes WordPad, office products,
etc.

I reinstalled Office with no result. I think registry settings at the OS
level pertaining to starting automation servers have been corrupted.

Anyone have any ideas?

If you use Norton AV then an option in Norton, called the Office
Plug-in, is known to cause conflicts with embedded objects. Go to
Norton Options and in the Miscellaneous section turn off "Enable
Office Plug-in".

Hi Rich,

I have the same problem and havent got the solution yet. I don't use Norton
Antivirus. And don't have any plugins checking my office programs.

If you encounter a solution please reply,

I have the same problem. I don't use Norton. Use F-Prot and no plugins for MS
products.

Any help appriciated.
