Can't install Access 97 Upgrade

A

Alan Ward

My new computer runs Win XP with Word, Excell and
Publisher install. I tried to install an upgrade version
of Access 97 that I had on my original computer running
the same programs. Access doesn't recognize any of these
programs even though Microsoft web site says it should.
Also I tried to email this question to microsoft support
(which ends Jan 17th, and it wouldn't recognize the
product identification number. I purchased the orginal
disk and have the key code. Any thoughts.

I believe you need to have a version of ACCESS installed on the computer to
use the upgrade version. Do you have an original version of Access (such as
95) available?

I ran into the same problem. Fortunately I did have an
old copy of Office 95 and by putting the disk in the A:
drive during installation I got it to work.
NOW I have a new problem. I can't open Access 97- it
says I am out of memory!!! I have 1GB Ram on this
computer and over 600MB free at it's highest usage. What
can I do??????
