can't install Home and Office 2008

Megan

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)

I am unable to install Home & Office 2008 onto my Mac: in the installation process, my "product id" keeps getting rejected as invalid. It's not an issue with incorrect numbers/letters -- it's that the install wants a 25-character code, and no such code exists on the product sleeve anywhere... what's going on? I would greatly appreciate any help...

When you install you need your CD Key (usually found on the sleeve....look
for orange sticker). The Product ID (a product ID will look like this:
11111-130-0001111-12345) is used to register. This is shown to you during
the installation process. Take a screen shot or write it down. Registration
is not required and serves no useful purpose. It will put you on a Microsoft
email list. You can sign up for the newsletter without registering.
