A little background: We're rolling out new systems, and
I'm creating an administrative installation point for
Office XP Pro. I am applying hotfixes/patches to the
administrative install as I go, and I've run into a
problem.
This pops up in the log when I try to install KB813617, a
fix for Access:
DEBUG: Error 2746: Transform 1TTo1U invalid for package
C:\WINNT\Installer\538c58e.msi. Expected product {901C0409-
6000-11D3-8CFE-0050048383C9}, found product {90110409-6000-
11D3-8CFE-0050048383C9}.
1: 2746 2: 1TTo1U 3: C:\WINNT\Installer\538c58e.msi 4:
{901C0409-6000-11D3-8CFE-0050048383C9} 5: {90110409-6000-

The upgrade patch cannot be installed by the Windows
Installer service because the program to be upgraded may
be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different
version of the program. Verify that the program to be
upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the
correct upgrade patch.
I've been seeing these "Transform 1TTo1U" errors on all
the updates I've applied, but this is the first time the
hotfix/service release has barfed. My office XP
installation has SP1, SP2, and hotfixes exc1003a,
wrd1005a, olk1005a, old1006a, and KB822036, KB824934,
KB824938, KB826293, KB827438. It was installed to an
administrative install point using the Office XP CD-ROM
(volume license edition) and the "setup /a" command.
Is the problem that I've installed other hotfixes
previously? Or is there some pre-SP1 hotfix I need? I
also tried to apply KB827430, which failed, because
KB813617 is not installed. At this point neither hotfix
will install.
Any feedback is appreciated
