Can't install MS Critical Patches

I

iccohen

Note: Posted on Officeupdate Usergroup with no responses, thought I might
have better luck here.

Running Windows XP, AVG Anti-virus, Spybot S&D, Ad-Aware, SpywareBlaster,
etc.

When I try to install Office 2000 Patches, I get the following message:
"Installation source for product not available. Verify that the source
exists and you can access it".

I've gone online, and some suggest I use the Microsoft Installer utility to
uninstall, and then reinstall Office. Unfortunately, it doesn't work, and I
can't install what Microsoft considers Critical patches. Please note I can
download, just can't install.

Does anyone have suggestions on what I can do? I can't even uninstall
MS-Office and start over!!!

Thanks in advance,

-Steve C.

If you used the cleanup utility correctly, then you should be able to reinstall
and update Office. Just be certain you have your product key handy.
Why do you say it didn't work?
Disable your virus software, can you update now?
