Can't install Office 2007 because of previous install

I was using Office 2003, downloaded a pre-release ver of Office 2007.
Installed and then uninstalled the 2007, tried to intall a fresh copy
of Office 2007. When it starts up I get the following error: Setup is
unable to proceed due to the following error(s):
The 2007 Microsoft Office system does not support upgrading from a
prerelease version of 2007 Microsoft System. You must first uninstall
any prerelase versions of 2007 Microsoft system products and
associated technologies. Correct the issue(s) listed above and re-run
setup.
I guess I am having problems with the associated technologies. Has
anyone had this problem and is there a fix. Thanks in advance.

Hi
Had the same problem, but here's the solution (at least in my specific case):
Try downloading a diagnostics tool from Microsoft called "msiuuc2.exe"
All you need to do is scroll down until you find any remaining MS Office
2007 (related) components, remove these and that should basically solve the
problem. Good luck.
