Can't install office 2007.what is event id 5000?

Install fails. Event viewer says description of event id 5000 cannot be
found. also following is part of the event: ....12.0.4518.1014, installfiles,
1603, setup.xml, the windows installer cannot update one or more protected
files.,x,NIL<NIL<NIL."
Can someone help me get word 2007 on for my daughter's graphics homework?
