Can't install Office 2007

I recently purchased Office Enterprise 2007. I have a Dell running XP SP2,
and am currently running Office 2003. The problem is that I can't see any
files on the DVD. It attempt to read the disk but gives me no error -
doesn't identify the disc either. The drive does read CDs with no problem.
I have a Radeon 9550 card and have loaded and reloaded multiple times the
latest, the oldest, etc. drivers with no change. I can't run commercial DVDs
either. However, I discovered today that I can read a DVD that my Panasonic
DVD player connected to the TV burned. I'm at a total loss where to go now
and ATI has been little help. I would really like to resolve this problem so
I can load Office. I know the DVD is good - my husband can run it on his Mac.

Hi, Denise,

Have you contacted Dell for support with the DVD drive? Are you sure that
it is a DVD drive and not a CD drive? The video drivers aren't likely to be
of help, but have you tried updating the DVD drivers?

This doesn't seem to be an Office 2007 problem, so you may want to post to a
Dell community, or get a replacement for your drive, if it has become
faulty.

It's an after-market DVD so I won't be able to get help from Dell. Yes, I'm
sure it's a DVD - it runs some DVDs and has run them in the past. It works
fine as a CD drive. I'm running out of ideas here which is why I thought I'd
try here. It's looking like I won't be running Office 2007 any time soon.
