My original PC where I had installed my Office 97 died. I
bought a new Dell w/ XP Pro on it and I get a message
saying no qualifying products are on the machine. What
can I do to get it installed.

Simple - find a qualifying product (Office 4.3 or 95, whatever version of
Works/Works Suite was current at the time). You may have Works on the new
system but it doesn't count as it, obviously, didn't exist 7 years ago. If
you don't have a qualifying product, then you cannot install it, as it's
part of the licence. You can, however, use the Office 97 disc as a
qualifying product for XP (please note that XP is the last version - if MS
continue their current trend of the last version and the one before - that
97 will be a QP for). No QP no licence.
