Can't install office updates - error code 0x80070643

over 90%, in my estimation, of the office updates will not install on my
computer. I always get the same error code 0x80070643 for each individual
update. Does anybody know what this error code referes to? I would assume
that it would be a clue as to the root prolem.

Hi;

This error is often caused by having the Office Source Engine service
disabled. To fix, on the Run line enter "services.msc" and press Enter.
When the list of services opens, scroll down to the Office Source Engine
item, double click on it, and on the General tab change the Startup Type to
Manual. You may also want to click Start under Service Status to see that
it does indeed start without errors. Now close the services list.

It's a good idea to restart your computer at this point.

If that does not resolve the issue, it could be a Windows Installer issue.
You can manually download and install the latest version from this site:

Again, a restart after installing this item is recommended.
