Can't install Office XP

I can't install Office XP Standard. I stick the disk in
the drive and I get:

"Cannot Launch C:\windows\system\msiexec.exe - A device
attached to the system is not functioning" and
"Error Starting Program - The MSIEXEC.EE file is linked to
missing export MSI.DLL:222"

Any ideas?

Take a look at Knowledge Base article 324638 OFF: "The MSIEXEC.EXE File Is
Linked to a Missing Export MSI.DLL:222"
(http://support.microsoft.com/?id=324638). Follow the steps in the article
and reply back if they do not resolve the problem.
