Can't install office2k SP3 or SP2

Wow! Guess I'm not the only one

I have Windows 98 and that installed all the updates for Windows 98 and office 2k up to sr-1. When I download either SP2 or SP3 and try to install, I get the following error message: Extracting file failed. It is most likely caused by low memory (low disk space for swapping file) or corrupted Cabinet file. I have 128 MB RAM and 30 gigs of free space. What might be wrong?

How many times have you tried to download these files?

As they are quite big, they can take a while over dial-up, which increases
the chances of corruption of the download. What you could try is minimize
the impact that background apps has on the downloading and installation of
mentioned updates.

When downloading the patches, disable any download managers if you have any
as these can cause issues with downloaded files.
