Can't install PS2003 SP1 - expected version not found

When attempting to update Project Server 2003 to SP1 we
get the message "Microsoft Office Project 2003 hotfix:
KB832887 - The expected version of product is not
found on your system". FYI we followed all of the
installation instruction in http://support.microsoft.com/?
kbid=837241 to a tee an still get the message.

In searching the newgroup I found one other instance of
this problem (without a solution). In that posting the
person mentions that they had Project Server 2003 with
ActionPack subscription (Russian version). At one time (I
don't remember if it was the 2002 or 2003 server) I tried
out the Polish language extensions for our remote group in
Poland. Could there be a link?

Please help, we need the service pack to fix other issues.

Did you ever find a solution to this issue? I appear to have the same issue.

Found my problem - boy do I feel dumb. I was trying to install the Project
Server part of the SP1 to my SQL server which is a different server that does
not have Project Server installed on it. Must be too many late nights doing
upgrades.
