Can't install Security Update for Word 2000 (KB895333)

Security Update for Word 2000 (KB895333) will not install. There are 2
options:

1. I DO have the CD. The installer asks me to insert the Office CD and says
it is looking for a file called DATA1.MSI. When I select OK it says it can't
find the file. Then when I browse to that specific file, the installation
fails.

2. I DO NOT have the CD. The web site says that I can still do the
download/update without the CD, but it will take longer, because it will have
to use a larger download to take care of the files that I am not providing on
from the CD. However, during the installation process, I am STILL asked for
my CD, even though I specifically selected the option that said I DO NOT HAVE
the CD. So then I go back to (1), above, and I am unable to install the
update.

When I open MS Word, then go to Help-->Detect and Repair, it cannot recognize
the DATA1.MSI file on the MS Office Pro 2000 disk. The disk name and the
file name are exactly what Word says it is looking for. Any more
suggestions? Thanks.

Hi Holy,

Is the 'use feature from' name for the CD the same as the CD you're
inserting? Is the Office 200 Edition listed in Add/Remove Programs
the same as that on the CD? (Data1.msi was a filename used on every
Office 2000 series product, but each one is different).

Bob,

The program name listed in Add/Remove programs is "Microsoft Office 2000
SR-1 Premium." Also, during repair, the pop-up window says, Insert the
'Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1 Premium' disk." The only name I could find
associated with my disk is "O9PROCD01." It is an original, valid MS Office
2000 Professional disk (disc 1). Thanks.

Hi Holy,

The MS Office 2000 Premium Edition and Professional Editions
are not interchangeable. If the Premium Edition was used
(possibly by the PC supplier) to install Office 2000 then you
can (a) obtain the Premium Edition CD set or (b) backup your files,
uninstall the Premium Edition, restart the PC then install from
the Professional Edition CD then update.

That makes sense. I thought they were the same thing. Unfortunately my boss
lost the Office CDs. I was trying to use my own, thinking I had the same
edition.

I have a problem very similar to Holy's: The installer asks for a CD with the
file DATA1PRO.MSI, but my CD has only a file DATA1.MSI. I try to use the file
listed on the bottom of the page "office2000-kb895333-fullfile-sve.exe"
(Swedish version), but the downloaded file ends up with length zero bytes.
Same with "office2000-kb895333-fullfile-enu.exe" - that file also has length
zero bytes.

I have the same problem but the file it can't locate is data1Pro.msi. When I
do a seach the file is located but the Windows Installer can't access it. I
attempted to download and run the file you listed here, but my system doesn't
recognize it. Any suggestions? thanks,
