Can't install SP-1

I have Microsoft Office XP on my system. I entered the
microsoft site for updating Office.
I downloaded Service Pack -1 for Microsoft Office XP. As
the Pack was installing, an error message appeared,
showing:
Error 1328. Error applying patch to file
C:\Config.Msi\PT4B2.tmp. It has probably been updated by
other means, and can no longer be modified by this patch.

And when I try to ignore SP-1 and try to download other
updates, they won't download, because 'SP-1 should be
downloaded first'.
Is there a solution to this dilemma.
