Can't keep window open with pdf file - help me

Jeffrey

Hi,

I have a PDF file linked "SSSS" from a web page
(http://www.midlandstech.edu/jlh/general/instructor/id_portal.htm). Adobe
Reader attempts to open - the opening window appears to be about 50 to 60%
max size before it is shut down.

I have turned off my pop-up blocker on IE6 as well as a free-standing
program called MyPopupKiller. Any ideas on why this document window will not
open and stay open?

PS

I have other pdf files on other web pages that seem to open fine!

I then went to the page and entered a new link with the url spelled out. So
both now link to the same page - odd reaction.

SSSS
http://www.midlandstech.edu/jlh/pdf/StudyHabits.pdf

The PDF file opens nicely in a new window NOW when I click SSSS but not for
the second link (http....pdf)?

Any ideas what my browser/AbodeReader or coding are doing?

Interesting. That's what it does for me as well. Let me take a peek at your
source and see if I can spot a difference.

Okay - this is what I see:
<div align="center">
<a target="_top" href="../../pdf/StudyHabits.pdf">SSSS</a></div>
<div align="center">
<a href="http://www.midlandstech.edu/jlh/pdf/StudyHabits.pdf">
http://www.midlandstech.edu/jlh/pdf/StudyHabits.pdf</a></div>

I use FrontPage, not Publisher for webs so I'm not the best one to tell you
how to fix it. But what * *can* tell you is that those two links are not the
same.

By the way, the photo of that poor dead bird is very sad. Some of us don't
like to see suffering, even in animals.

After I responded I saw that this *is* the FP newsgroup, not the Publisher
one.

Look at your hyperlinks for these two documents. Make them the same.
