Can't link Outlook with my Hotmail address

I feel sure that I have followed all the rules and ticked all the boxes, but
I do not seem to be able to automatically download my Hotmail post.

I'm running Outlook 2003 on XP Professional.

I'm also feeling very stupid because I can't get it to work!!

I don't get an error message.

If I load Microsoft Outlook, no email is in the Inbox. If I load Hotmail, I
will find numerous emails - none is shown in Outlook (not even in the Outlook
Hotmail folder).

What am I doing wrong?
