If the error is "The server sent a response which FrontPage
could not parse. If you are trying to connect to a Windows SharePoint
Services server, check with the server's administrator to make sure Windows
SharePoint Services is installed properly."
then it is unlikely you have firewall problems.
The error is often associated with the website being too big for the server
hardware and/or network connection (which includes the Internet connection).
While there is no limit to the number of files., or total size of website,
that *FrontPage* can manage, some systems do have limits, especially web
servers that impose time limitations on processing web requests. This will
include the "Recalculate Hyperlinks" command (seen as "Processing Web
Updates" after copying files during a publish operation) on the server that
automatically follows every publish. A web of the size you have may be too
big for the server.
It would be a good idea to break the web into subwebs, where each subweb can
be published individually, and thus considerably reduce the processing load
on the server.
Note that since a subweb is an independent web, you will have to create and
apply navigation, themes, include files, shared borders, or DWTs for each
subweb.

Keith, I saw your problem and have a similar one you may know how to
fix...if
I could please bug you for a few minutes...
The error message I get is: "The server sent a response which FrontPage
could not parse. If you are trying to connect to a Windows SharePoint
Services server, check with the server's administrator to make sure
Windows
SharePoint Services is installed properly."
I can't figure out why it's saying that all of a sudden. It could be a
firewall issue I suppose. I tried to do a few things, but am a novice.
How
did you check your firewall permissions? Not sure how to do that. Sorry
for
all the questions...

Thanks, Susan

Problem Solved! It ended up being a Internet Explorer Security issue. I
had
to open internet options-security-local intranet-sites-advanced and add
the
sites to the zone that I wanted to edit with front page. As soon as I did
that Front page found the web site and allowed me to enter my user name
and
password and opened just fine.

I checked both and they are allowing FP permission. I even uninstalled
and
reinstalled FP same problem on the one Desktop pc?
:
Check your desktop firewall permissions or anti-virus to see if it is
blocking FP

| Hi I have serveral web sites that I edit and publish with Front

| do this from both my lap tops and a desk top pc. Now I can access
and work

one of two
