Can't make blank documents

When I try to create a new blank document in Word it has two pages of
text that come up. I assume that what it's pulling up is a document on
my computer somewhere. I then have to delete everything to write
anything of my own. It does it when I first open word and when I'm in
word and say to create a new document. Any help you can give me would
be great...

The text is in your Normal template.

You don't say what version you're using, but for Word 2004, open Normal,
which lives in your

~:Documents:Microsoft User Data:

folder. Delete the text, and save the file.

If you don't have customizations stored in Normal, the easiest thing
would be to just delete that file.
